The Answer to Far Out Prayer

We pray our lives from
the world returns;
That the fire of Christ within us burns;
That alone our heart for the Spirit yearns
As we seek the other to serve.
We pray our minds would the journey learn;
That temptations outside
us we would daily spurn;
That our soul has the grace to obey and
discern
The Truth and the Wisdom of God.

Because it’s not enough that I say the words,
Since routine discipline is for the birds
And show without tell
for the masses and herds
Of the goats and the cows of the earth.
Sincerity is in the truth in the heart
It’s the end of the day just the same as the start
Where
the wheat and the chaff we might each pull apart
As we seek life's true meaning and worth.
So make time to God more precious
Midst your journey the
free and unconscious
Praying faith to explore all your wishes
Where the end only Christ
