the feast day of John Damescene (GREEK RITE)
and TODAY is his feast day (LATIN RITE)
And so it is fitting that we are moving into 'our-pilgrim-age'

"Show me the icons that you venerate,
that I may be able to understand your faith."

Noble son of the House of David,
Spouse of the Mother of God,
Foster Father of the Son of God,
Head of the Holy Family.

Oh so chaste, so just, so prudent,
so brave, so obedient, so patient,
so industrious.

Example to parents,
Comfort of the troubled,
Patron of the dying,
Protector of the Church.

John 2:13-25
........and while Jesus was in Jerusalem for the feast of Passover,
many began to believe in His name when they saw the signs He was doing.

But Jesus would not trust Himself to them because He knew them all,
and did not need anyone to testify about human nature.

He Himself understood it well.
